Camilo Blas (Cajamarca, 19 March 1903 – Lima, 26 July 1985) was an indigenous Peruvian artist. Since childhood, he showed his artistic spirit through drawings and sketches. Thanks to the support from his uncle, the Cajamarcan artist Mario Urteaga, Camilo Blas took his first steps in painting.

He studied art at the National School of Fine Arts in Lima under the direction of Daniel Hernández and later, José Sabogal. He companions included artists Ricardo Flórez , Camino Brent and Julia Codesido . From 1933, he worked as a professor of plastic arts until he became the Director of the School of Fine Arts in Lima.

Camilo Blas is known for his subtle, refined style imbued with indigenous current. Due to the prevalence of Peruvian customs depicted in his works, both from Cajamarca and all over Peru, Blas is considered the ” Pancho Fierro Serrano.”
