Jan Joris Van Vliet was born in Leiden, Netherlands in 1605. He was a Dutch Golden AgeĀ artist and Rembrandt pupil, who primarily specialized in drawings and prints. He is most known for his print series called “The Beggars.” Van Vliet died in 1668 in Leiden.
