Donald Witherstine (1896-1961) was a well-listed painter and etcher. He studied at AIC, PAFA, as well as under George Elmer Browne. Witherstine exhibited at AIC in 1925, and worked at Peoria, II AI, Bloomington AA, and the University of Illinois. His woodblock prints were selected by the Allied Artists of America to be given as gifts to its members for Christmas of 1993.
